Ford seeks unprecedented response for EcoSport

Ford India, the American auto giant, unveiled its much anticipated sports utility vehicle Ford EcoSport at the 11th Indian Auto Expo 2012. Earlier it was speculated that this four wheeler would be a compact SUV or a sub four meter SUV, but company officials have stated that the upcoming SUV would be of 4.25 meter. After receiving an overwhelming response from visitors and crowd during auto show, company decided to showcase this show-stopper in the city of Bollywood, Mumbai. Mumbai crowd is the first to get close with EcoSport after it won hearts of car enthusiasts and received superb comments from experts at its global display at Delhi auto show this year. This car was first showcased at Infinity mall in Malad and then on Inorbit mall, Vasi. Not just in Indian automobile segment car will also going to hit other global markets.

The innovative Ford EcoSport designed to offer a combination of best-in-class design, quality, technology and safety. With Eco-Sport company directly targets the new generation of consumers in different automobile industries. Ford Figo hatch is the one which helps the auto giant to regain its lost market share and allow them to re-established in Indian automobile industry. According to company officials EcoSport will be the second of eight new vehicles to be launched by the 2015 in Indian auto industry.

With Ford EcoSport, the American auto giant is also introducing its global EcoBoost powertrain technology to Indian car market for the first time in the form of its smallest ever and newest EcoBoost engine. The engine will be affixed with three cylinders and 1.0 L of displacement and will provide power to coming Ford EcoSport. Despite of its small capacity, the power-train develops power and performance that will generate power equal to traditional 1.6 L petrol engine while emitting less than 140g/km of carbon dioxide. The EcoBoost engine affixed with turbocharging direct injection fuel system and other technologies which further enhances the performance of the car. The small engine will replace large size engines without loosing any of the performance with lower fuel consumption.

This car is designed to offer balanced performance on city as well as off-road. It will be the ideal car for the urban consumer who wants the utility to escape the city. The sports utility vehicle offers innovative technology and ingredients which normally not available in this class of vehicle. The car has been designed to meet the safety standards in Indian automobile market. Features like ABS (Anti lock braking system) with EBD (Electronic Brake Distribution system) and brake assist is expected in the car. Apparently, the American auto giant also plans to launch the Fiesta sedan automatic and Fiesta hatchback in Indian automotive industry.
